Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Carshipex collects when you use the website and marketplace, how we use it, and who we share it with.
What we collect
Shippers
- Contact details: name, email address, phone numbers for pickup and delivery contacts.
- Shipment details: vehicle year, make, model, VIN, running condition, photos you upload, pickup and delivery addresses and dates, special instructions.
- Payment: the deposit is processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation of the payment and its amount; we do not receive or store your full card number.
Carriers
- Account details: email, password (stored as a salted hash), company name, MC and DOT numbers, address, contact person and phone.
- Compliance documents you upload: W-9, operating authority, certificate of insurance, and signed bills of lading.
- Your offers, accepted loads, status updates and the ratings shippers leave for you.
Everyone
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages you open, in server logs used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: show your shipment to carriers, deliver offers, complete bookings and send status emails (new offer, offer accepted, booked, picked up, delivered, cancelled).
- To verify carriers before they can bid, and to show carrier ratings to shippers.
- To answer support requests and handle claims.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who sees it
- Carriers see the route (cities and ZIP codes), vehicle details and dates while the auction is open. Your name, exact addresses and phone numbers are shared only with the carrier whose offer you accept, so the carrier can perform the pickup and delivery.
- Shippers see the carrier's company name, MC number and rating.
- Service providers that process data for us: Stripe (payments), Google Maps Places (address lookup in the quote form), and our email delivery provider. They may process your data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
Cookies
- A sign-in cookie that keeps carriers and dispatchers logged in.
- An order-access cookie that remembers, for up to 3 days, that you have confirmed the code for a specific order so you do not have to re-enter it.
- A session cookie and small preference cookies (for example, "do not show this hint again").
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Orders, offers and the related contact details are kept for as long as needed to perform the shipment, handle claims and meet legal and accounting obligations. Carrier compliance documents are kept while the account is active and for the period required by law afterwards. You can ask us to delete an account or a shipment that is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal retention requirements. Write to support@carshipex.com from the email address linked to your order or account.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, carrier documents are stored outside the public web folder and are served only to their owner and to Carshipex dispatchers, and payment card data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
The service is for adults arranging vehicle transportation. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the current version.
